Bucksport fire under investigation

BUCKSPORT — A fire that burned just over an acre at a residence on the Bucks Mills Road Aug. 6 remains under investigation, said Maine Forest Ranger John Cousins.

On Monday, Cousins said he hadn’t yet been able to reach the property owner.

No one was home when the fire erupted.

“It was either a large campfire or a debris pile,” Cousins said.

The Bucksport Fire Department called for mutual aid from fire departments in Orland, Orrington and Castine. The Penobscot Fire Department was on standby.
