Bangor man charged with OUI after SUV catches fire

TRENTON — A 26-year-old Bangor man was charged with operating under the influence on Aug. 18 after his SUV caught fire on the Bar Harbor Road in Trenton, according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.

Donn Farley was heading north on the Bar Harbor Road when he told authorities a deer ran into the road. He told police he swerved the SUV to avoid the deer. The vehicle hit a utility pole and went down an embankment, where it overturned and caught on fire.

Farley escaped from the SUV with no serious injuries, according to police. The Sheriff’s Office said officers investigated and determined that Farley was operating under the influence. He is due to appear in court on Oct. 8.
