TREMONT — Several relief funds have been established for the Cousins family, who lost everything when their home and business, Cap’n Nemo’s restaurant, burned in Bass Harbor last week.
A fund for cash donations at www.gofundme.com has already raised $16,000 in pledges. A fund has also been set up at The First bank under the name “We Love Cap’n Nemos.” Donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 86, Southwest Harbor, Maine 04679.
Donations of clothes and household goods can be dropped off at the Southwest Harbor Library, the old Gordius Garage behind McKinley Market, Carroll Drug Store in Southwest Harbor, Queen Anne’s Flower Shop or the Mad Hatter in Bar Harbor or at the Ale House in Ellsworth.
A major fund raising event is planned for Saturday, Dec. 21 at the Legion Hall in Southwest Harbor. Dubbed “Nemosock ’13,” it will run from noon until 10 p.m. with a dozen local bands slated to perform.
A raffle and auction for items donated by dozens of area businesses and individuals runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Admission will be by donation.
