ELLSWORTH — A two-vehicle collision on Oak Street near the intersection with Birch Avenue Thursday at 4 p.m. injured a passenger in one of the vehicles and slowed traffic for half an hour.
The accident involved a Mitsubishi Outlander and a Toyota RAV4. The RAV4 had extensive damage to the front, the Outlander had damage to the rear. Crews from the Ellsworth Fire Department, County Ambulance and the Ellsworth Police Department were at the scene working in the rain to extricate the passenger from the Outlander. After several minutes, the passenger was lifted out on a backboard and placed in a waiting ambulance.
