City Council Approves Name Change for Industrial Park

ELLSWORTH — The city’s industrial park off Boggy Brook Road will get a new name and sign. The City Council March 21 approved changing the name from Ellsworth Industrial Park to Ellsworth Business Park.

The council also approved spending $16,000 on a new sign.

Councilor John Moore voted in favor of the new name but said he thought the name Ellsworth Business Park was too similar to Ellsworth Commerce Park.

Ellsworth Commerce Park is the city’s business park off Route 1A near Friends & Family Market.

City Manager Michelle Beal said the city is hoping to increase the aesthetics at the industrial park, citing the new public water and sewer service and the state’s upcoming rerouting of Route 180 through the park.
