Christian Ridge culvert work continues

ELLSWORTH — Work on a Christian Ridge Road culvert is expected to wrap up by the end of this month.

The project is to rehabilitate the culvert’s concrete footing to improve its life expectancy, according to Travis Hamel, resident engineer with the Maine Department of Transportation’s Bridge Program.

“Currently the contractor, CPM Constructors, has completed the removal of deteriorated existing concrete and will be placing new concrete at the end of this week,” Hamel said Tuesday.

The project is estimated to cost around $200,000.
