CFO receives helping hand

ELLSWORTH — Child and Family Opportunities (CFO) has received what it calls a “dream come true,” in the form of a sizeable gift from a Massachusetts-based group.

Inavale Foundation gave $45,000 to CFO to support the agency’s early child care and education programs in Hancock and Washington counties. It’s the third year that CFO has received support from Inavale.

The money has been used to help families with a demonstrated need that were not eligible for state funding. This year, CFO also used the money to support a project that provides teachers in the agency’s centers with mentoring support.
