ACADIA NAT’L PARK — Volunteers from the Atlantic Oceanside, Bar Harbor Inn, Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce, Acadia Corporation and Friends of Acadia joined forces on Friday to do a spring cleanup of trash along the Cadillac Mountain Road in Acadia National Park.

Thanks to the efforts of area businesses, FOA and the park, the road to the top, the highest point along the Maine coast, opens on Saturday, a week earlier than planned. Although the forecast is calling for rain Saturday, the road will be open earlier enough to allow those hoping to see the sunrise to access the mountain.
