Revenues Drop at NEH Marina

MOUNT DESERT — The Northeast Harbor Marina brought in far less money this July and August than in the same two months last year.

“Anecdotal evidence concerning a decrease in pleasure boat activity along the Maine coast appears to be valid, judging by the revenue reports from the marina enterprise [fund],” town manager Durlin Lunt said in a report to the board of selectmen.

He said marina revenues for July and August were down $51,696 from last year, and revenue surplus dropped by $61,045. The total amount of surplus – otherwise known as profit – that the marina has generated so far this year is $95,362, compared to $156,407 in 2010.
