BAR HARBOR — Bar Harbor Savings and Loan has announced the promotion of Nancy L. Sawyer to assistant vice president and Sharon L. Kelley to mortgage assistant. Both are long-term employees.
Ms. Sawyer, a Bar Harbor native, started her career at the bank as a teller in 1977. Her responsibilities as assistant vice president include opening new accounts and setting up IRAs. “As a small local bank, we get to perform many different duties,” she said.
Bill Weir, president and CEO, said this recognition is well deserved. “Nancy exemplifies the extraordinary level of service that Bar Harbor Savings and Loan provides to our customers.”
Ms. Kelley has more than 21 years of banking experience, and has been with Bar Harbor Savings and Loan for eight years. A native of Mount Desert Island, she volunteers in the community to support local animal shelters and the Alzheimer’s Association. Sharon said, “Because of the bank’s size, we are able to offer personal customer service. You never get a machine when you call here.” Ms. Kelley is dedicated to helping clients understand mortgage financing and ensuring that they are comfortable and informed throughout the process,” Mr. Weir said.
