Nichols Day Camp, a program of Blue Hill Society for Aid to Children, has announced the addition of two new employees.
River Plouffe-Vogel of Blue Hill has been hired as camp director and will manage the camp’s daily operations.
Board of Directors President, Jeff Gray said, “River brings a great understanding of what Nichols is all about and we’re happy he’ll be sharing his experience with us as camp director.”
Plouffe-Vogel, a longtime camper and counselor at Nichols who is graduating this spring from the University of Southern Maine with a bachelor’s degree in social work said, “I am looking forward to a great summer at camp. We’ll be able to honor camp traditions while making improvements too.”
Amy Houghton, also of Blue Hill, is the new director of outreach and communication.
Houghton says of her recent appointment, “I am excited to work for an organization that has such longstanding history in our community and has been influential in the lives of countless local children.”
Camp sessions are available for 5- to 14-year-olds and a counselor in training program is available for 15-year-olds. Registration and application for Camperships may be completed online at www.nicholsaycamps.org.
