TRENTON — The partnership between JetBlue Airways and Cape Air, which serves the Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport here, has been a secret – at least, as far as JetBlue’s online reservation system was concerned.
Cape Air began daily flights between here and Boston in April. But it wasn’t until last month that JetBlue revised its website to accommodate people who wanted to book flights online from Bar Harbor to any of JetBlue’s destinations. Now, that can be done at jetblue.com.
“That’s a really big deal for us,” airport manager Allison Rogers said Monday.
Jacqueline Donohoo, Northeast marketing manager for Cape Air, said the airport’s listing on the JetBlue website is “a great way to get the word out to people who may never have been to Bar Harbor or who usually fly to Bangor and then drive to Bar Harbor.”
“This really puts the Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport on the map for people coming to Bar Harbor from Los Angeles, for example,” Ms. Donohoo said. “It’s just one ticket, one payment.”
