New VP of Finance Named for MDI Hospital

Chrissi Maguire-Harding has been named Vice President of Finance at Mount Desert Island Hospital. For the past four years, Harding served as controller at the Jackson Laboratory. Previously, she was controller at Maine Coast Regional Healthcare Facilities, where she worked for eight years. There she developed a passion for the healthcare industry that drew her back to hospital finance. “The delivery of rural health care is so important and being part of that team is crucial to my professional life,” she said.

“Chrissi’s experience in financial management is matched only by her dedication to advancing healthcare in her own community,” said MDI Hospital President and CEO Art Blank. “Her business acumen, experience and adaptability make her the ideal person to lead the MDI Hospital Organization’s finances through the evolving landscape of health care.”

A long-time Ellsworth area resident and graduate of Ellsworth High School, Harding is deeply involved in community activities including serving as president of the board of the Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce as well as on their finance and development committees, currently she is on the steering committee for the Downeast YMCA’s Campaign for Camp, and an active member of the Ellsworth Lioness Club.

In addition to ultimate oversight of all financial activities of the Hospital organization, Harding is looking forward to the opportunity to help clarify and educate the community on how the changes in national health care policy will affect patient care and the overall health of the Hospital.

Harding is a graduate of Saint Joseph’s College of Maine and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in health care administration. She and her two children, ages 10 and 17, are avid skiers and outdoors-people.
