New Members to Institute for Humane Education Board of Directors

The Institute for Humane Education, headquartered in Surry, has announced that its Board of Directors has approved a slate of three new members to serve two-year terms.

Tony Scucci, MSW, of Portland is a senior governance associate at BoardSource. He has over 35 years experience in the nonprofit sector and provides individualized board consultation and training. He also conducts workshops on governance issues.

Neil Hornish of Granby, Conn., is co-founder and director of education of the Compassionate Living Project in Connecticut, which creates and implements classroom projects for schools grades four through college. He has produced a public access TV show, “Animal Matters,” for 10 years and also is the chairman of the Conservation Commission in Granby.

Elizabeth Crawford of Wilmington, N.C., is a faculty member in the Department of Elementary, Middle Level and Literacy Education at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. She holds degrees in anthropology, elementary education, and curriculum leadership.
