ELLSWORTH — A steady stream of customers and well-wishers dropped by Saunders Automotive & Trailer Center on opening day Sept. 4.
“It was good,” said owner Buddy Saunders. “I’m still standing up.”
The former manager of Harmon’s Tire brings decades of experience to the new venture.
The business is located at 148 Surry Road in a former R.F. Jordan garage. The building was most recently leased by a concrete company. Saunders said he owes a big thanks to owner Patrick Jordan for making improvements to the building.
Saunders also has been busy making renovations over the summer. He added a public waiting room and office space and installed new lift equipment.
Business ownership has been a personal goal for many years, he said.
“That’s where I wanted to be and the time was right,” Saunders said.
Saunders Automotive offers complete automotive repair and service, inspections, tires, alignments, oil changes, shocks, mufflers, chassis work and factory-scheduled maintenance.
Saunders also will offer trailer sales and service and BOSS snowplow sales and service.
On staff are automotive technician Jason Smith and alignment specialist Neal Dow.
