New coffee shop planned

ELLSWORTH — The standalone coffee shop in front of Maine Coast Mall on High Street will once again be occupied and in business soon.

A sign on the building and information on the company’s website indicate Aroma Joe’s will be the new tenant in the space, replacing Deja Brew/Sweet Cones, the previous occupant (which in turn had replaced Coffee Express).

Aroma Joe’s is a Portland-based company with 49 coffee shops in Maine and New Hampshire. This is relatively new territory for the company, however, as it only has two shops north or east of Augusta (one in Waterville and one in Orono). Most are in southern Maine and New Hampshire.

A menu on the company’s website shows Aroma Joe’s offers hot and cold coffee, teas, espresso, fruit smoothies, energy-infused drinks and food including donuts, muffins, bagels, breakfast sandwiches and other sweets.

Information about a specific opening date was not immediately available this week.
