New Chief Medical Information Officer for Blue Hill Memorial Hospital

Charles Zelnick, MD, has been named chief medical information officer for Blue Hill Memorial Hospital.

Zelnick is a primary care provider and medical director for the hospital’s Island Family Medicine practice in Stonington. He is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his family practice residency through Wright State University.

“I have no doubt that all of our patients will benefit from Dr. Zelnick’s knowledge of information systems in general, and electronic health records in particular,” said Greg Roraff, president and chief executive officer for Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. “Island Family Medicine was the first of our practices to implement electronic medical records for primary care patients. Dr. Zelnick demonstrated tremendous leadership during this implementation, and continues to break new ground for the benefit of our patients.”
