Camden National Bank has announced that Robert D. Merrill has been elected to serve as a member of the bank’s board of directors.
Merrill is the president of Merrill Furniture in Ellsworth, where he has worked for 35 years, and is a director of Merrill Blueberry Farms.
“I look forward to working with everyone at Camden National Bank,” Merrill said. “The growth and performance of the bank over the last few years has been remarkable considering our economic climate. We share the same philosophy of giving back to the communities we serve and Camden National Bank has always been a leader in that respect.”
In 2010, Merrill was named the Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce’s Citizen of the Year. Merrill currently serves on the Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce Finance Committee and is secretary of the City of Ellsworth Harbor Commission. Merrill sits on the board of Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, for which he formerly served as treasurer, vice chairman and chairman.
