Holiday Marketplace to open this week

ELLSWORTH — Heart of Ellsworth will celebrate its fourth Holiday Marketplace with a Community Holiday Party and Annual Meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5, in the former JB Atlantic building at 142 Main St.

Bar Harbor Catering Co., Flexit Cafe and Fogtown Brewing Co. will be jointly serving refreshments at the event. Come and meet Heart of Ellsworth board members, shop owners and make a dent on your gift shopping list. The event is free and open to the public.

This year’s Holiday Marketplace will open on Friday, Nov. 29, with seven businesses displaying their creations and products.

“Shoppers will be delighted with the diversity of this year’s Marketplace. We have brought back Leaf & Anna from Brooklin and Three Wishes from Blue Hill,” said Heart of Ellsworth Executive Director Cara Romano.

New this year are Sagegrass from Bar Harbor, Salt & Pine Candle Co., Bee Blessed, Maine Maker 3D and P&L Home from Ellsworth. An onsite cafe will offer tasty selections from Flexit Cafe & Bakery.

Romano extended a hearty thanks to the JB Atlantic building owners, Jon Hutchins and Bill Sanborn, for partnering with Heart of Ellsworth to house the Holiday Marketplace.

Community member Peter Lione once again has brilliantly transformed the space into a festive shopping experience helping to make downtown Ellsworth a festive destination during the holiday season.

Open through Saturday, Dec. 29, the Holiday Marketplace’s hours are: Thursdays, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. (closed Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28), Fridays and Saturdays 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sundays 10 a.m.-4 p.m. For ongoing updates and info, visit Heart of Ellsworth’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
