BUCKSPORT — The Bucksport Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has announced that Teri Doty has been appointed the new executive director of the organization effective Jan. 7.
Doty replaces Leslie Wombacher, who resigned effective Dec. 31, 2019, after an eight-year stint.
“I want to thank the Chamber’s board of directors for their vote of confidence and enthusiasm as I transition to the executive director role at the Bucksport Bay Area Chamber of Commerce,” Doty said. “I am very excited to work with this Chamber as we determine our future while we focus on an inclusive and vibrant membership.”
“I was thrilled that an opportunity to work for the Chamber became available but was sad that Leslie was leaving,” Doty said. “She did such a great job helping the community and I have some big shoes to fill. But I’m eager to step in and help pick up where she left off. Bucksport is such a cool town and I’m excited to see what’s ahead.”
Doty, a California native, has 18 years of experience in the publishing industry on both coasts and enjoys building and maintaining relationships with people. Most recently she worked in the pharmacy at Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital.
“I was impressed by Teri’s enthusiasm and involvement in Bucksport events in the past five years since she’s lived here,” said Catherine Ring, a Chamber board member. “I like her energy and fresh perspective.”
