
The Parkman Mountain parking lot on Route 198 is closed for construction of a circular drive for Island Explorer buses.
ACADIA NAT’L PARK — Construction work has begun on three re-designed Island Explorer bus stop locations here, causing the temporary closure of the parking lots at Bubble Pond, Bubble Rock and Parkman Mountain.
Work will start soon on the bus stop areas at Sand Beach, Thunder Hole and the Cadillac Mountain north ridge trailhead and, in late October, at the Echo Lake Beach parking lot.
R.F. Jordan & Sons Construction of Ellsworth is the contractor for the $1.15 million project. Funding is through the federal Paul S. Sarbanes Transit in Parks Program.
