Building permits down from June 2021

ELLSWORTH — The city issued a total of 21 building permits this June, exactly half the amount that were issued in June of 2021.

There were also two instances in which several permits were issued for one property, further widening the gap between the number of individual projects this year and last.

In June 2021, the city collected $8,423.70 in fees from the 42 permits issued. This June, the city collected only $2,297.45 in fees.

The costliest project permitted in June of 2021 was a $750,000 basketball facility built in Commerce Park. This year the highest projected cost was $350,000 with two projects, one residential and one commercial, reaching that mark.
