Bucksport Voters Re-elect Two Councilors

BUCKSPORT — Voters here re-elected two incumbent town councilors Tuesday and a new Regional School Unit 25 School Board member.

Councilors Robert Howard and David Keene were re-elected to their posts with 1,478 and 1,711 votes, respectively. Each ran unopposed. Scott Frazier was elected to the RSU 25 Board with 1,783 votes. He was the sole candidate.

Voters also approved modifications to the town charter dealing with the town manager’s position. The changes make the language more gender-neutral, change the manager’s term length from indefinite to definite, require an annual performance review and clarify the process for removing a town manager. Language regarding the town’s involvement with the school department was also removed, as that authority has been transferred to the RSU Board.
