BUCKSPORT — Police were busy this week with numerous incidents, including accidents and a few drug-related arrests.
Accidents
A car struck a “curve ahead” warning sign and a tree after a motorist fell asleep on the River Road in Bucksport June 18, said Officer Tyler Adams.
Airiell Knowlton, 24, of Bucksport was driving a 2017 Kia Forte, which had to be towed. Adams drove Knowlton and her son home while Officer Ryan Welch waited for a tow truck.
Two cars collided at the intersection of Franklin Street and Central Street after one motorist drove through the intersection without stopping at the stop sign on Central Street June 12, Adams reported. There was no word on injuries but both cars had to be towed due to disabling damage.
Karen Carrell, 67, of Sedgwick was driving a 1999 Honda, which failed to stop and struck a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta traveling west on Franklin Street and operated by Hailie Smith, 19, of Bucksport, according to a copy of the accident report.
Carrell advised that she did not travel in the area often and didn’t know about the stop sign, the officer said.
Arrests
Officer Eric Marcel arrested Stephanie Coutu, 28, of Waterville on charges of protection order violation and violating conditions of release June 13 on Main Street. In the same incident, Ross Kallock, 31, of Waterville was arrested on warrants.
Michael DeLong, 62, of Bucksport was arrested on charges of violating conditions of release and protection order violation on Gifford Lane June 13.
Jamie Ward, 37, of Bucksport was arrested on charges of unlawful drug furnishing, furnishing liquor to a minor and violating conditions of release on Route 1 June 13.
Shelby Freilino, 31, of Bucksport was arrested on a warrant as well as unlawful drug furnishing and possession of drugs June 17 on Route 1.
Adams arrested Zachary Hutchins, 30, of Bucksport on charges of unlawful drug furnishing, possession of drugs, falsifying evidence and illegal attachment of registration plates June 17 on Route 1.
Officer Ryan Welch arrested Cody Ames, 37, of Bucksport on charges of operating after revocation and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit June 18 on Silver Lake Road.
Summonses
Adams summoned John Trefethen, 27, of Orland, on charges of operating without a license and violating conditions of his release on Millvale Road June 12.
Alexis Pratt, 24, of Bangor was summoned on a charge of bail violation on Wenbelle Drive June 14.
Deputy Police Chief David Winchester charged Brandy Mylen, 37, of Bucksport with violating conditions of release June 15.
