BUCKSPORT — Jay Esprit, 29, of Bucksport was arrested on a charge of theft after police received a warrant for his arrest out of Cumberland County, Detective Sgt. David Winchester said.
Esprit was arrested at a location on Bucksmills Road Feb. 1 and taken to Hancock County Jail.
Collision leads to summons
Jesse Feero, 56, of Bucksport was summoned on a charge of not having car insurance after getting into a car accident while pulling into a driveway on River Road Feb. 5, Winchester said.
The accident, in which a 1991 Cadillac operated by Feero skidded and hit a tree, caused $3,000 worth of damage to the car, police said. No injuries were reported.
Other traffic violations
Michael Butts, 62, of Biddeford was summoned on a charge of not having auto insurance after police stopped his vehicle for a separate alleged traffic violation on Route 1 Feb. 2.
Morgan Downes, 17, of Bucksport was summoned on a charge of operating a vehicle with passengers not allowed under her new driver’s license, Winchester said. She was stopped at Bucksport High School.
Stolen gas
A tank of liquid propane and a regulator were reportedly stolen from a home on Edison Drive, a resident reported on Feb. 5. The incident is under investigation. Police estimated the value of the lost goods to be $200.
