Bucksport man indicted for role in May altercation



ELLSWORTH — A Hancock County grand jury Dec. 10 indicted a Bucksport man who allegedly struck another man with his vehicle after an altercation in the Bucksport Circle K parking lot last May.

Steve Kane Jr., 24, of Bucksport was indicted on charges of aggravated assault, assault, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, assault and driving to endanger.

After getting hit by Kane’s truck, the other man sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital in another vehicle, Bucksport Police Detective Sgt. David Winchester said. Kane was released on bail that day.

The following others were also indicted last week:

  • Erik R. Clute, 42, Franklin, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, terrorizing in Franklin June 20.
  • Michael D. Dichard, 63, Bucksport, burglary, theft in Bucksport July 20.
  • Kevin M. Guptill, 31, Eastbrook, unlawful possession of scheduled drugs in Ellsworth, May 26.
  • Cary W. Harper, 41, Ellsworth, negotiating a worthless instrument and violating conditions of release in Ellsworth Feb. 16.
  • Casey T. Henderson, 43, Trenton, unlawful drug possession in Trenton April 30.
  • Gerald C. Kane Jr., 54, Ellsworth, two counts theft in Lamoine May 10.
  • Matthew L. Lester, 33, Gouldsboro, reckless conduct with a firearm, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, criminal mischief in Gouldsboro May 3.
  • Mark E. Lewis, 54, Bangor, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, violating conditions of release in Waltham June 25.
  • Robert M. Machanic, 32, Bar Harbor, two counts of arson, one count each aggravated criminal mischief, theft and criminal mischief in Bar Harbor July 5.
  • Christopher M. Mann, 36, Bucksport, aggravated assault, domestic violence assault, endangering the welfare of a child in Bucksport June 10, 2012.
  • Kayla E. Massicotte, 25, Ellsworth, two counts of theft in Ellsworth May 19.
  • Amy Myers, 45, Eastport, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, theft by deception and forgery in Ellsworth May 25; violating conditions of release and attempted theft in Ellsworth May 15 and May 22.
  • Amy M. Poors, 41, two counts aggravated drug trafficking, three counts unlawful drug possession in Franklin May 30.
  • Steven Roberson, 36, Ellsworth, violating conditions of his release, failure to give correct name/address, operating after revocation, criminal operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant in Bar Harbor Sept. 6; operating after revocation, operating an unregistered motor vehicle in Hancock May 24.
  • Jody Stahre, 33, Blue Hill, unlawful drug trafficking, failure to appear in Bucksport and Ellsworth Sept. 27 and Nov. 2.
  • Gregory A. Trundy, 51, Hancock, unlawful drug trafficking, unlawful drug possession in Franklin May 30.
