DEER ISLE — Agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested three Deer Isle men on heroin charges Monday, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland announced.
Drug agents have been investigating heroin selling for the past five months by a group in Deer Isle and Stonington, McCausland said.
Police searched a residence at 47 Little Deer Isle Road late Monday afternoon. Agents seized heroin, a handgun and other items consistent with drug trafficking, McCausland said.
Agents arrested Kenneth Farrin, 27, on charges of unlawful drug trafficking (heroin), possession of a firearm by a felon and heroin possession. Farrin is free on $3,500 cash bail.
Police also arrested Shane Wood, 27, on one count of unlawful drug trafficking (heroin). Wood is free on $1,500 cash bail.
Also arrested was Jared Young, 26, on one count of unlawful drug trafficking (heroin). Young is free on $1,500 cash bail.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
