SURRY — A seasonal residence on Viewpoint Lane off Newbury Neck Road caught fire Wednesday morning, according to Surry Fire Chief Richard Black.
“We contained it to one section of the house,” Black said. “There is very little fire damage but a lot of smoke and water damage.”
No one was at the residence.
The department was called out at 5:30 a.m. and was joined by firefighters from Ellsworth, Blue Hill and Orland, Black said. Northern Light Ambulance also responded.
Black was on the scene late Wednesday morning with an investigator from the Maine Fire Marshal’s Office trying to determine a cause.
