ELLSWORTH — Defense attorney Jeff Toothaker, who is representing Bar Harbor murder suspect Jalique Keene, confirmed Tuesday that police are reviewing security video camera footage from the Connors Emerson School.
Toothaker said he does not know what, if anything, the video might contain.
The body of Mikaela Conley, 19, of Bar Harbor was found near the school at the intersection of Route 3 and West Street June 2.
Keene, 21, was arrested and charged with murder June 4. He is being held without bail in the Hancock County Jail.
He is due back in court July 19 for a dispositional or case status hearing.
Authorities have not released the manner of Conley’s death. Court documents have been sealed.
Meanwhile, the community is rallying around Conley’s family. A gofundme.com drive to raise money for funeral expenses exceeded organizer Matthew Hochman’s goal of $10,000 in less than a week.
A candlelight vigil was held on Bar Harbor’s Village Green Monday night.
