Pedestrian struck and killed in Hancock



HANCOCK — A Lamoine man was struck and killed while walking in the road on Mud Creek Road in Hancock Jan. 9, Maine State Police spokesman Steve McCausland said.

Terry Bragdon was 67.

McCausland said Bragdon was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers said Bragdon, who was wearing dark clothing, was struck by a pickup truck on the Mud Creek Road, about a mile from the Route 1 intersection.

Police identified the driver as Amy Metcalf, 47, of Milbridge. She and her passenger were not injured.

Trooper Travis Chapman is the investigating officer.

Sgt. Tim Varney and troopers Blaine Silk and Joshua Lander assisted. The Gouldsboro Police Department, Hancock Volunteer Fire Department, Lamoine Volunteer Fire Department and the Northern Light Ambulance Service also assisted at the scene.
