Hancock man killed in weekend crash

HANCOCK — A 93-year-old Hancock man died Sunday afternoon following a two-car crash on Route 1, according to state police.

Joseph Ryan died shortly after arriving at Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital, according to State Police Spokesman Steve McCausland. The crash was reported at 11:30 a.m. The area of Route 1 around the crash site was closed for 2.5 hours Sunday.

The two occupants of the second car were transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the second car was 53-year-old Michel Taccyl and his passenger was Noel Antenord, 56, both of Jonesport.
