Gouldsboro Woman Dies in Township 7 Crash Wednesday



TOWNSHIP 7 — The Maine State Police said a Gouldsboro woman, 51, died in a two-vehicle crash here on Route 1 Wednesday night around.

Police are not yet releasing her name or the name of the other motorist, a Columbia man, 37.

Township 7 is located between Steuben and Gouldsboro.

Trooper Dana Austin said the woman had been operating a pickup truck and was pronounced dead at the scene.

“It appears the operator of the pickup truck, for an unknown reason, crossed over the yellow center line and struck a Ford F-550 dump body truck head-on,” Austin said. “The operator of that truck, a 37-year-old man from Columbia, was transported to Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.”

Sergeant Jason Sattler, Trooper Cliff Peterson, Trooper Darren Vittum, the Ellsworth Police Department, the Gouldsboro Police Department, the Gouldsboro Fire Department, Steuben Fire Department, and the Sullivan Fire Department assisted at the scene.
