ORLAND — A fire destroyed an Orland garage and everything in it Monday morning, according to Orland Fire Chief Bobby Conary.

A passer-by called in the Briar Brook Road fire at about 9:30 a.m. The Orland, Bucksport and Penobscot fire departments all responded to the scene. Surry was called in for station coverage.

The homeowners were not home at the time and no one was injured, but the garage is a total loss.

“There was a classic car that the guy restored, a tractor, some four-wheelers, all the contents of the garage. Tools and everything,” Conary said.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to investigate the cause of the fire.

Conary said firefighters had extinguished the blaze by 11:30 a.m.
