ELLSWORTH — An investigation into the theft of a pickup truck here in the early morning hours Monday ended with an arrest in Waltham less than two hours later, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Deputy Dakota Dupuis said he located the vehicle on Route 179 around 3:15 a.m.

Ellsworth Police Captain Troy Bires said the stolen vehicle is a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado. The truck was taken from a Whitmore Way residence, Bires said.

Dupuis arrested Mickey Manning, 27, of Sullivan on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant, operating after suspension and two counts of violating conditions of his release.

The deputy said the vehicle Manning was driving was reported stolen in Ellsworth at approximately 1:40 a.m.

The Ellsworth Police Department charged Manning with violating conditions of his release, theft by unauthorized taking and reckless conduct.

The Maine State Police also helped search for the vehicle.
