Blue Hill Consolidated School principal resigns

BLUE HILL — The principal of Blue Hill Consolidated School is resigning effective June 30.

Shelly Schildroth, a Blue Hill native, said she’s leaving her career in education to work at her family’s business, M.E. Astbury & Son.

“I’ve been at BHCS for 17 years (plus one year in the superintendent’s office as curriculum coordinator) and the last seven as principal,” Schildroth said.

There is no word yet on who will fill the vacancy.

Schildroth said she thought the position had been advertised in ServingSchools, which is an online marketplace for education jobs.

Union 93 Superintendent Reg Ruhlin said the school would begin advertising for the position in print this week.
