Beechland Road project expected to go out to bid in March

ELLSWORTH — Work on a $2.8-million road construction project on Beechland Road is expected to begin this summer.

The project will go out to bid in March. City Manager Michelle Beal expects the construction to begin as soon as June. Most of the project will be completed this fall, with the remainder being finished next spring, Beal said.

The project is being done by both the state and the city of Ellsworth as part of a Municipal Partnership Initiative, according to the Maine Department of Transportation.
