Bayside Road death prompted large police response
ELLSWORTH — An autopsy Wednesday at the Office of the Medical Examiner in Augusta did “not show anything suspicious” in the death of an Ellsworth woman whose body was discovered Tuesday at her home on Bayside Road.
Shannon Moss, spokeswoman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said the deceased was Kathie Cote, 64.
“As is common practice, when the cause or manner of death is not clear, the Major Crimes Unit is called to help determine the circumstances,” Moss said Wednesday afternoon.
Ellsworth Police found the body Tuesday and called state police to the scene.
Cote was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer. “Out of respect for the family, no further information will be released,” according to Moss.
