ELLSWORTH — Developer Jonathan Bates is adding to his portfolio with an expansion of Jefferson LUXE, an apartment complex on Jefferson Way off Beechland Road near The Jackson Laboratory.
Ruger Properties, LLC received building permits from the city in April for two separate structures, one 11-unit building and one 12-unit building. Each is estimated to cost $900,000.
In September 2019, the city issued a permit for a 12-unit building in the complex. That spring, the Ellsworth Planning Board approved plans for 45 units spread between four buildings.
According to the website, the Jefferson LUXE apartments that already have been built should be ready for occupancy at some point this month.
The “eco-friendly, ultra-luxury town homes” are two-bedroom, one-bath units with rent starting at $1,600 a month.
The city issued 23 building permits in April, including permits for self-storage units at Kingsland Crossing and duplexes on Denver Way.
