The theme of this year’s ball was “A Masquerade.” Some 430 guests attended, raising nearly $60,000 that will be used to support patient care at the Mary Dow Center for cancer care at MCMH. “This event is a success because of the continued support of presenting sponsors R.H. Foster Energy and Machias Savings Bank,” said John Ronan, president of the hospital. Ronan also acknowledged “the generous funding from more than 140 community donors; the countless hours worked by our more than 100 volunteers; and the support of a volunteer committee of more than 20 community leaders. We couldn’t do this without our wonderful and caring community partners.” The Maine Coast Memorial Hospital Foundation gave thanks to Albert and Barbara Harmon for sponsoring the poinsettia tree, Edith R. Dixon and Wallace Events for sponsoring the venue, Witham Family Properties for sponsoring the decorations, Cerner for sponsoring the band and Jones, Kuriloff & Sargent LLC for sponsoring the champagne.
