Winter warmers

The frost is nearly on the pumpkin, so we must be ready to bundle up.

We have such a long list this year, we thought we better hit resale shops first.

The long underwear in our lingerie drawer is full of holes. We discovered last winter that to effectively block out icy wind, long underwear should be intact.

So, we were really excited to find a new pair of black Calvin Klein long underwear for $2 at The TurnStyle in Blue Hill. Those were so soft and warm and made for the best night’s sleep.

The TurnStyle also has a special display of kids’ winter coats ranging from $4 to $7.

The Clothes Encounter in Ellsworth has snow suits for children. There were several pairs for younger children in blue and pink for $4. The shop also had a baby size 3 to 6 month snowsuit for $3.50.

We found sweaters at Second to None in Ellsworth, including a camel-hued cardigan for $9.98 and a crew-neck sweater in a black and purple print for $14.97. Second to None also has down vests, including a blue Old Navy for $9.97 and a brown xx large for $20.
