When the bloom is off the rose and a summer tan is off your legs, it is tights season.

We found tights at The Grasshopper Shop in Ellsworth and at The Village Emporium in Bar Harbor.

Grasshopper carries microfiber tights by Davco for $14.95 and cotton sweater tights by MeMoi for $24.95.

The Davco are available in fall colors such as fuschia, gray, steel, palais purple, olive, chocolate, New York red and black.

The MeMoi are available in stripes such as peacock, which has black, purple and red. We were particularly fond of MeMoi’s tights, which have a sweater look. Those come in ocean blue, rust, black and taupe.

The Village Emporium carries tights in a wide range of fibers from cashmere to cotton to fleece-lined to wool to knit.

All are by b.ella and range from $21 to $28.

They come in solid colors such as black, brown, green, magenta and gray.
