Red hot and cool: GSA musicians win national recognition



BLUE HILL — One George Stevens Academy jazz ensemble and two musicians’ performances won awards at the virtual National Jazz Festival held on May 21.

The GSA Jazz Band received an honorable mention in the Large School L-3 live division while senior Morgan Davis was named Outstanding Musician in the Large School L-3 division for his jazz band performance.

Junior Jenna Blodgett was named Superior Musician in the Large School L-3 division for her performance in the jazz band and Outstanding Musician in the Small School Live division for her performance with the Tasty Bites combo. She also received an honorable mention in the Vocal Soloist division.
