Tumblers take Burgers and Blues

SOUTHWEST HARBOR – Soulful sounds will be found during Burgers and Blues featuring The Tumblers, with Frank and Annie Schwartz, Amy Briggs, and Steve Peer. Acadia Family Center will host the event at Sips Restaurant at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12.

The Tumblers are the new guard of Northern Soul, a term coined by magazine writer Dave Godin that describes the indie soul music enjoyed by the working class in the North of England. Considered a passing fad during the early 1970s, the Northern Soul scene has lasted for over 35 years, and today The Tumblers are keeping the tradition alive Down East.

All proceeds benefit the Nathan Bright Keegan Memorial Education Fund, which was created to support substance abuse prevention. Seating is limited; call 244-4550 to make a reservation.
