
SOUTHWEST HARBOR — The 13th Annual Mount Desert Island Garlic Festival is set for this Saturday, Sept. 17, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Smuggler’s Den Campground on route 102.
Presented by Nostrano, a restaurant owned and operated by chef Frank Pendola, the event will feature garlic dish tastings from numerous local restaurants, a farmers’ market, garlic growers, live music, and more. In addition to Nostrano, and Mr. Pendola’s barbecue operation, participating restaurants include: Chippers of Hancock, Cleonice of Ellsworth, Two Sisters Lemonade, Sonya’s Artisanal Baking of Ellsworth, and Mia’s Spring Rolls.
Among the bands slated to perform are Clusterfunk and Siren.
According to the festival’s organizers, there also will be a dog agility demonstration put on by members of the Coastal Crescent Kennel Club. The entry fee is $5.
