STONINGTON — This week, the Stonington Opera House will host two performances by the innovative New York dance duo Bridgman/Packer Dance. “Voyeur” and “Under the Skin” blend dance, video and an installation into a performance art form that defies easy definition.

Myrna Packer and Art Bridgman conceived of “Voyeur” as a way to explore characters whose plain exteriors betray an inner turmoil. The production is inspired by the work of painter Edward Hopper.

In the performance, Packer and Bridgman dance on a set of panels that are hinged and angled to amplify the fracturing between their characters’ interior and exterior lives.

Shows will begin at 7 p.m. and run Aug. 15-18. Tickets can be reserved by calling the Opera House box office at 367-2788 or going to www.operahousearts.org.
