Lobsterman monologues

MOUNT DESERT — Former Maine Senator Dennis Damon will be playing the part of an island lobsterman in a solo performance play “On the Edge,” at the Neighborhood House in Northeast Harbor at 8 p.m. The monologue is about the realities of island life, isolation, stereotyping and small communities and was written by Eva Murray.

More than 20 paintings by Phil Steel of the Salty Dog Gallery in Southwest Harbor will form the backdrop on stage.

Music to accompany the performance is written by Steve Romanoff of Schooner Fair. During the performance, filmmaker Jeff Dobbs will be videotaping, as there are plans to incorporate this into a film intended for public television.

The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for ages 16 and under.
