Leaf peepers who travel from a distance to enjoy Maine’s bright red, yellow and orange display of fall foliage won’t be disappointed this year, according to Bill Ostrofsky, a forest pathologist at the Maine Forest Service.
“Overall, the foliage looks to be in better than average condition,” he said.
“I fully expect the Maine fall foliage season will be delivered right on time as another bright and beautiful show.”
Rangers in each of the state’s seven tracking zones monitor leaf color and leaf drop. Updates are provided every Wednesday at www.mainefoliage.com throughout the foliage season.
The state website has been redesigned for ease of accessibility by mobile devices. Foliage fans also are encouraged to post their leaf photos at the Maine Fall Foliage page on Facebook.
