LAMOINE — Bob Giggey and Honeybee Heyman run through their lines in a rehearsal of Anton Chekhov’s one-act comedy “The Bear.” The comic play is part of Lamoine Community Arts’ upcoming production of “An Evening of Chekhov Comedies,” being performed in coming weeks at the Lamoine-Bayside Grange. The troupe also will perform Chekhov’s “A Marriage Proposal” and seven of American playwright Neil Simon’s plays that are based on Chekhov’s short stories.
Performances are at 7 p.m. on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, 7 and 8. A matinee will be staged at 3 p.m. on Nov. 9. Homemade refreshments will be served. Tickets cost $10 per person. To reserve seats, call 667-6564.
