Film Focuses On Climate Change

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Southwest Harbor Public Library will host a viewing and discussion of local resident Tom Jackson’s documentary film, “Out of Balance: ExxonMobil’s Impact on Climate Change” on Tuesday, May 26, at 7 p.m.

This film shows the influence that the largest company in the world has on governments, the media and citizens, and what can be done about global warming. It asserts that, while the Earth’s climate is pushed further out of balance by increasing use of fossil fuels, ExxonMobil continues to have undue influence around the world, making record profits while ignoring climate science for which there has been overwhelming consensus for more than 10 years.

The hour-long film offers ideas for the global social changes that must take place if there’s any chance of having a livable planet for future generations.

The general public is invited to this free film viewing and discussion.
