Do you have talent? Want to win $500?

ELLSWORTH — Do you have talent? Are you interested in a chance to win up to $500? Come to The Grand on Aug. 23 and showcase your skills as a contestant on “Does Hancock County Have Talent?”

The contest is open to anyone over 10 years old performing any type of act: vocal, comedy (non-vulgar), dance, juggling, reading and instrumentals (limited to four-person combo). Those under 18 must have their entry form signed by a parent or guardian.

Performers must register by Tuesday, Aug. 21. The Grand will provide a stage, sound system, microphone, stage lighting, dressing room and a piano. All contestants are responsible for providing their own instruments, costumes, CDs and other props.

Professional (contracted musicians or those whose talent is a principal source of income) are not permitted to enter.

Performers will be judged and the top 12 will advance to the “Hancock County’s Got Talent” competition at the Blue Hill Fair on Aug. 30. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three performers — $100 for third place, $250 for second place and $500 for first place.

The event is being hosted by The Grand and the Blue Hill Fair. Tickets to the Aug. 23 event are $10. The event starts at 7 p.m.
